Art, How Can I Ignore It

I’ve just added the Art category to this blog because I’d like to start writing about artists and art forms that aren’t necessarily directly related to ‘graphic design’.
Of course everything I see for me is related to my graphic design work, because everything, including art, influences me, but I think it also deserves it’s own section.
The types of art I’ve been interested in over the years include;
Pop Art
Art Deco
Urban
Architecture (I consider this an art form)
I’d like to write about these and more over time and reference great artists in these categories and seek permission from them also to showcase their work on these pages.
As I write this evening I’m sitting in my hotel room in Llandudno, North Wales…. away for a mini break at the sea, which makes me sound like a Victorian on holiday, writing back home about the bracing sea air and what not.
I’m quite taken by the architecture at Llandudno, specifically the wrought iron detailing on all the buildings and shops …it feels very Victorian here (hence my reference) and much has been well preserved including the lamp posts, it’s quite impressive.
I feel like a Victorian on holiday at the sea because as I type into my 21st Century Communication Tablet if I glance to my right I see half height lace curtains hanging in front of the original sash windows fronting my room, and hear seagulls shrieking in the night (they are very noisy actually I note). Shame this is also laced with drunken arguments from holidaymakers (last night!) and the roar of 21st Century engines!
